And so the shy Jessica takes a chance on a striking new hair color, a shade of red quite oddly labeled Busty Breeder.
But could that name possibly come true after Jessica mistakenly falls asleep with the color in before rinsing it out? Find out as Readers Choice Month ends with a warning to always follow the directions… or you might just change forever.
Jessica has always had three big fears according to her best friend Lola, unnecessary surgery, getting pregnant, and men in general… although Jessica would argue the last one purely on the basis she just keeps finding men that turn out to be jerks. Still, it’s one of those jerks, Vince, who she recently broke things off with that has Jessica considering big changes in her life. Only there’s no chance Jessica could ever know just how big those changes will end up being.
At the encouragement of Lola, Jessica agrees to try a new hair color, something she’s never done before, and as Lola says, with a name like Jessica she should go red even though Jessica is in no way anything close to as curvy as Jessica Rabbit.
Vince had seemed like a nice guy at first, someone who actually appreciated Jessica, until he started obsessing on pushing their relationship too fast. But when he practically blurred past the idea of getting married, more focused on starting a family, making all sorts of inappropriate jokes about getting her pregnant, that was when Vince showed what a perverse creep he really was.
So it’s not even all that shocking when Vince shows up at the pharmacy in the store where Jessica happens to be looking at all the hair color options. She’s suspected he was stalking her lately anyway, another reason why changing her look would be a good thing. As disturbing as the exchange is, Vince does convince her of one thing… she’s definitely going to color her hair, and since he made a joke about redheads only being good for one thing, she’s definitely going red.
But could Vince have really placed the little sticker she finds on the box of hair coloring she chose, or is hair coloring really so creatively named that a company would ever call this particular shade of red something like Busty Breeder?
Lola seems to think it quite possibly is just the color name, having once used a color called Hollywood Harlot herself. Either way, Jessica has never been even the slightest bit busty, and there’s no way she’s getting pregnant anytime soon.
That evening, stressed from her encounter with Vince, frustrated by life in general, Jessica follows the instructions, working the color through her hair, then realizing she has to wait a certain amount of time before showering and rinsing it out. It’s listening to the sound of the shower warming, sitting on her bed, that Jessica lets the day finally tire her a bit too much and accidentally falls asleep.
Waking hours later, the shower long since gone cold but still running, Jessica freaks out, assuming she just fucked up coloring her hair. Jumping in the cold shower, rinsing the color away and relieved that her hair isn’t falling out or anything, Jessica may just discover that waiting too long on certain colors changes a lot more than the shade in one’s hair.
Will Jessica get the new look she was wanting, or will it be the new look every other man on the planet has been wanting? Will she discover the pleasures of changing her looks or will those pleasures overwhelm her? And will she truly embrace the color, no matter how perverse the name of that color seemed?
Readers Choice Month ends with a new beginning for a woman who had three fears and may just end up lusting for all of them.
