Cookie Nookie by Kris P. Kreme

On the third day of Krismas, Nora discovers the cost of eating Santa’s cookies and milk.

A hardworking mother, Nora is getting home very late, her children already in bed, having left a cute note out proclaiming the plate of cookies and the glass of milk For Santa.

But when Nora finishes the late night snack off, then falls asleep on the couch beside the note, will the surprisingly real Santa assume she was left for him to enjoy?

With all the time magic can provide him, Santa may end up giving Nora a gift she definitely didn’t ask for this year.

Nora has been working extra hard for her two kids this year, especially with her husband away on military duty. But as she comes home quite late on Christmas Eve, she knows all that will be changing soon because unknown to little Annie and Cameron, her husband will be home tomorrow morning, a Christmas gift the kids will be thrilled with.

What Nora could never imagine as she walks in late, strips off the puffy parka, and stumbles tired into the living room where a warm fire still crackles in the fireplace, is that her own careless actions will result in a gift that definitely can’t be returned.

The kids are long since asleep, the babysitter meeting Nora outside so as not to wake them, but when Nora heads into the living room after working so many hours, she finds it unbelievably relaxing to just collapse onto the couch. And then she sees the adorably cute little handwritten card for Santa, the milk, and the cookies.

Since every other Christmas her husband handled the milk and cookies, Nora figures there’s no harm in enjoying a late night snack, so after savoring the sugary sweet cookies and drinking the milk, the young mother barely has the strength to do much more than take the empty plate and glass to the kitchen sink. Exhausted, Nora intends to just relax on the couch only a few minutes, but a long long day has her fast asleep right beside the little note her children left for Santa.

How could Nora ever imagine that Santa Claus is very much real, and when he swoops down her chimney, a bit alarmed to find a woman slumbering so close to where he made his entrance, he’s first annoyed at his elf Jingles for not alerting him to her presence.

But Jingles thinks the note is the reason the alerts didn’t go off, and Santa wasn’t warned. As he reads the note, Santa and his elf Jingles can only assume the words For Santa are referring to Nora. And upon reading that the kids asked for Santa to take good care of Mommy since Daddy has been gone, a rather consequential mistake is made.

Will Santa get a gift he didn’t expect, and spend hours and hours playing with that gift? Will Nora wake up to discover who she assumes is a crazy burglar in her house, one with mysterious powers of time manipulation and claiming to be Santa Claus?

Remember at Krismas to give Santa milk and cookies, or he might just end up enjoying a little Cookie Nookie to give a gift you never expected.
