After her boyfriend Nash proves himself to be every bit the asshole she thought he was, Millie is speeding off from their poorly planned night under the stars.
The stars weren’t even visible as a storm was rolling in and as Millie drives off, desperate to re-join civilization, she is alerted that a tornado is directly in her path. Pulling off, finding an abandoned old farmhouse, Millie descends the stairs in what she believes is an ordinary storm shelter.
But these stairs may just lead her to another place, another time, and another destiny for her own future. Relationships can be scary, tornadoes can be even worse, but going to Fertile Fields can get downright Twisted!
What was supposedly going to be a romantic night under the stars out in the middle of the country has become anything but for Millie. She’s done with her immature idiot boyfriend Nash, and as she speeds off, thankful she insisted on them each taking their own cars, she just wants to get away from clearly the biggest mistake of her life. But her escape may just take her somewhere she never imagined, and to a time long before her troubles ever began.
As a law student for over two years, Millie takes many things seriously, her studies, her relationship, and her future, but after coming face to face with the fiercest weather imaginable that night she will find everything literally twisted in ways that forever leave Millie a shell of her former self.
If it wasn’t bad enough that Nash dragged her out to a place GPS doesn’t even really know the roads, he had to make the uncharacteristic attempt at romance under the stars on a night that a late-season tornado happened to be forming, and as she makes her escape, trying to just reach civilization again, that tornado finds Millie.
Desperate to get somewhere safe, blaming Nash for all of this, Millie finds a rundown looking farmhouse and abandoned looking barn in the middle of nowhere, pulling up and spotting the old wooden doors of a storm shelter near the house. As she just barely manages to fight the wind and open those doors, Millie finds a pitch black depth of stairs like she has never seen before. And as she clutches the railing, she descends into that darkness for safety.
But is safety what she will find at the very bottom of seemingly bottomless stairs? Is the light at the bottom of those stairs a sign of whoever might live in a decrepit old farmhouse that has seen much better days? Or is the light a window into a different time, a different place, and a place that will change much more than just Millie’s mind about what really are the depths of depravity?
Halloween with the Kreme is the time to take a trip through time and visit the early days of a town that truly defines the word Twisted, a town called Fertile Fields.
The next treat… is a Booby Trap
